My friend and I were attracted to the aesthetic of this restaurant so we decided to give it a try, needless to say we were impressed. The food is quite delicious, the presentation is attractive, and the waitstaff are all very kind and quick. I will be bringing my bf with me the next time we go out (: * i took the tiramisu home with me so it was in the box, it was great *
Had a terrific work function at Pastas today. The banquet coordinator Linda was a pleasure to work with and Tyler, our server, was so attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and we can't wait to visit again!
Delicious food and exceptional service! Most of our party ordered the lobster risotto and they all raved about it. I was the only vegan, our waiter was able to accommodate me. We all had a wonderful experience.
We started with the lobster bisque. So delicious. We split the Caesar salad. The dressing was perfect and creamy. We also had the Salmon pasta. It was average. Pasta and sauce was good but my salmon was dry. I'd still revisit
Pastas is so, so, so good! The outside is unassuming and given that the Bay Area typically has less than average Italian food (relative to the EC) I was skeptical, but seriously. Everything from the warm, rustic bread and dipping oil / vinegar, bruschetta, beet salad, halibut and angel hair pasta. Everything was fresh, delicious and properly flavored. Their service was also great and attentive. It's not the most aesthetically great - which I think is an improvement opportunity for them...they could have a better interior and exterior seating space to further draw crowds.
I just picked up to-go dinner from Pastas, and I was surprised that I hadn't written a review on this Pleasanton gem. Look, on Main Street, there is a plethora (meaning "over-abundance") of restaurants hawking their overpriced $30/plate pasta dishes, usually over-salted, over-cooked and over-hyped. Pastas is a quiet old-school standard that doesn't try to be anything other than a reliable comfort-food Italian restaurant with a small bar that serves excellent cocktails to locals who know. After living in Pleasanton for over 20 years, I've rediscovered Pastas, and I'm delighted! The minute you walk in, you are greeted by the smells and sights of a cozy neighborhood "osteria" (Google it). My favorites are: the classic Caesar salad, the minestrone, eggplant parmigiana, and the mushroom and thyme pizza. The service is excellent: fast and efficient if you just want to enjoy a quick dinner or thoughtful and methodical, if you want a lingering date night. The waiters listen to your needs, and the kitchen will adjust the dishes to your preferences. So, if you're looking for an enjoyable evening at a restaurant that will deliver a good value for your hard-earned bucks, try Pastas...you'll be happy you did!
Girl's Night Out, but make it classy. Dropped in with a friend at 6pm on a Sunday and were immediately seated. The white tablecloth settings and wait staffs apparel lend to a more formal ambience. Since we wanted an excuse to get dressed up and go out, Pastas trattoria definitely met our criteria. The wait staff were available for questions and suggestions, and we each ordered a main course of pasta - the Bolognese and seasonal pumpkin ravioli - with their suggested wine pairings. You should always order pasta when it's in the establishment's name! I appreciate their selection of local and domestic wines, although they also have an extensive imported wine list if your budget is generous. We were both very satisfied with our meals, and the portions were large enough that we had leftovers to bring home. Always a great spot if you're seeking a classy dining experience downtown.
We had a very nice Mother's Day dinner here because I'm the mom and I was craving Italiano. This was a last minute plan and I really appreciate that the Hostess who took my call was so upbeat and welcoming. I enjoyed the dim lighting, candles at the table, and large window view of passersby on the street. This was exactly what I was hoping for and I definitely recommend this place for a romantic date night. The type of restaurant setting that makes me put on a nice dress and some heels. The drinks were good. My daughters were delighted that their Shirley's arrived with 3 cherries. The wine and cocktail menus were quite nice. We requested bread because we were all feeling hungrier by the minute. The bread was wonderful. I had a cup of the minestrone soup and it was nothing short of DELICIOUS. My carbonara was great, but the chicken that I added to the meal wasn't the high quality tender grilled chicken breast that I craved. It was dry over cooked chicken that was oily/greasy without any distinct flavor. I did notice that they charge 6.00 if you wish to split a plate with another guest. Typically, when I want to try something new, I'll split it with a girlfriend or one of my kids. So, the 6.00 charge would definitely put quite a damper on what is typically a fun food adventure for our table. I look forward to coming back for another serving of that minestrone soon, because I already know it's delicious. Thanks Pastas
